New Delhi, India (Jan 22, 2008).  The Economic Times is reporting that Tata Motors plans to expand dealership network after the successful launch of Nano.

Enthused by rave reviews that its Rs one lakh car Nano got at the Auto fair recently, the country's largest automobile company Tata Motors is embarking on a dealership network expansion drive.

The company has invited applications from interested parties to be its dealers in the Delhi and National Capital region.

When contacted, a company official said it was a part of an ongoing process.

"Till now, the company has about 170 odd dealers in the country and opening new dealerships is an ongoing process," the official said, without disclosing how many dealerships the company planned to add this year.

With a turnover of over Rs 32,000 crore, Tata Motors is already India's largest automobile company. The company is constantly expanding its portfolio of passenger vehicle products and services, including the recently unveiled people's car, the Tata Nano.
